Futon Mattress Frames

When it comes down to it, your choice of frames for your bed is almost as important as the futon mattress itself. Futons are not known for their luxurious toppers or memory foam (though, they might soon, there are many more styles now than you might think - another future article idea!), so the frame is important. After all, it might be the thing you see in your space more than the futons themselves.

Luckily, a futon mattress frame doesn't have to be simply a flat structure with wooden slats. Though, with the right wood choice and layout, this Zen style can be very appealing. You could also opt for a more functional futon bed frame by going with under-mattress storage and shelving options. These can be very organizationally handy and attractive as well. This will likely be a custom job, but not necessarily. You might also like to go with a metal frame. These are lighter in most cases, but can have a cheaper look and feel to them if you're not careful. The wooden frames are typically more durable and more handsome to look at. You will have options such as stain colors, paint colors and even armrest and other storage options in wood.
