Yup, you read that title right. You can get a futon mattress now that would remind you nothing of those thin, pancake pads that you probably had at one point in college. The trick is to know what to look for in the right type of mattress.
If you are looking for a new bed and you are more concerned with cost, futons are a great option. You can feel okay about it. You will actually be getting a good mattress for the price. In fact, in some cases, if you opt for the more extravagant futon bed, you may end up spending more than a cheap traditional mattress.
This is only because you can get a traditional twin mattress for relatively cheap. Whereas, you might be thinking about a new wrapped, inner coil spring futon style mattress. Yes, these do exist! It hardly defines what the old futon was all about, but it is a welcomed change. You can also find the new futons with other features like memory foam and custom bed frames.
